Emma Edwards is the Senior Genetic Counsellor at Westmead Familial Cancer Service in Sydney. She graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling in 2000. Initially working as an outreach Genetic Counsellor in general genetics as well as seeing patients undergoing IVF, she moved to the UK in 2005 to specialise in cancer genetics, before returning to Sydney in 2010. Since her return she has become a clinical lecturer for the Masters of Genetic Counselling at Sydney University. She has a passion for educating patients about inherited cancer syndromes so they can make informed decisions about the option of genetic testing and implications for their healthcare.
